Pennant Results – Round 5
It was round five this weekend for the Men’s, Women’s and Colts Pennant teams. The Colts and Men’s team were both competing at Green Acres Golf Club and our Women’s team competed at Northern Golf Club.
The Colts defeated Rossdale 3.5 to 1.5 and the Men’s team defeated Settlers Run 5 and 2. A great results for both teams, after last week’s disappointment. Our Men’s team remain at the top of the table with two very important games remaining – one against our closest competitors. Our Colts team remain second with two game remaining, only needing one more victory to guarantee their spot in the finals.
Our Women’s team came up just short this week, narrowly loosing to Yering Meadows 4 to 3, with two matches ending on the 20th hole in Yering Meadows favour. Another strong performance against Box Hill next week, will hopefully see our Women’s team get their second victory for the season.
The Senior team had a sensational win on Friday, defeating Yering Meadows. It came down to the last putt on the 18th hole which saw John Stafford have a great win and take the team across the line, winning 5 and 4. The Senior team have now earned themselves a place in next week’s final against Kew, taking place at home.
