Local Rules
Temporary Local Rules
All previous temporary local rules have been rescinded – the following Local Rules are effective as of 12 October 2024
DRAIN LINES – (Rule 16.1)
If a ball comes to rest on a drain line in the general area the player may take nearest point of relief via drop within one club length not nearer to the hole (Rule 16.1).
Local Rules
OUT OF BOUNDS (OOB) – Rule 18.2
•Beyond any boundary fence and/or white stakes with black tops.
•The boundary is defined by the line between the course-side points at ground level of white stakes and fence posts.
•Any ball that comes to rest inside of the temporary fence area of the old clubhouse area
ALTERNATIVE TO STROKE AND DISTANCE FOR A LOST BALL OR BALL OUT OF BOUNDS
When a player’s ball has not been found or is known or virtually certain to be out of bounds, the player may proceed under the Stroke and Distance Local Rule for a penalty of two strokes, rather than proceeding under stroke and distance. This Local Rule is not available if a provisional ball has been played. See Model Local Rule E-5 for full details of the Local Rule.
ABNORMAL COURSE CONDITIONS (Rule 16.1)
Ground Under Repair (GUR)
Relief may be taken:
•Bare patches on cut fairways only.
•Freshly top soiled areas
•From solidly embedded stones in general areas.
•Cracks in ground in the general area, and wheel marks in the general area.
•Fertilizer that has been placed in the fairways.
•From animal footprint in a bunker (interference does not exist if these conditions only interfere with the player’s stance).
•Recently aerated areas (interference does not exist if these conditions only interfere with the player’s stance).
•Obvious recently sanded areas (excluding sanded divots) and obvious recently top soiled areas.
•Wash-out ruts in the general area, and washaways in the bunker.
•Drainage lines in the general area.
Relief must be taken
Those areas the margins of which are defined by white stakes, white lines and/or GUR signage.
•Staked trees and staked shrubs.
•Seams of cut turf and freshly laid turf
COMPULSORY GUR
Grass face of bunker edges
Note: When taking relief from GUR under Rule 16.1b the ball cannot be dropped in a bunker, penalty area or on putting green
IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS
Relief may be taken
•Sprinkler heads, grates, and tap covers.
•All stakes defining GUR, and penalty areas.
•All artificially surfaced paths, including mulched paths.
In addition to the types of interference described in Rule 16.1a, when a ball lies in the general area, interference also exists if an immovable obstruction is: on the player’s line of play, is within two club-lengths of the putting green and is within two club-lengths of the ball. The player may take relief under Rule 16.1b. (Exception – There is no relief under this Local Rule if the player chooses a line of play that is clearly unreasonable.)
DROPPING ZONES
When a dropping zone has been provided as an extra relief option for ground under repair on the course, a player may drop a ball in the dropping zone. The dropping zone is a relief area under Rule 14.3. When the player is using a dropping zone, the ball must be dropped in the dropping zone, and it must come to rest in the dropping zone.
21st and 26th Hole Drop Zone
If a ball is in the penalty area on hole 21 and 26, including when it is known or virtually certain that a ball that has not been found came to rest in the penalty area, the player has these relief options, each for one penalty stroke:
•Take relief under Rule 17.1, or
•As an extra option, drop the original ball or another ball in the nearest dropping zone. The dropping zone is a relief area under Rule 14.3.
MAXIMUM SCORE
With exception as defined in special event Conditions of Entry, for all Stroke competitions at this course, the maximum score a player can have is TEN (10). After reaching a score of 10, the player is encouraged to stop playing the hole and pick their ball up.
PENALTY STATEMENT
Unless otherwise noted, the penalty for a breach of a Local Rule is the general penalty (stroke play – two strokes, match play – loss of hole).
